Key Issues

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

With 10,000 illegal aliens crossing the Southern Border every day and 12,000 unaccompanied minors in federal custody sheltering in local schools across the country, let’s call this what it is: an invasion. The truth is that the United States is spending $500 Billion on housing, clothing, feeding, and sheltering illegal immigrants while enough lethal doses of fentanyl were entering through the border the past year to kill every single American. The government MUST stop handing out free phones and flights to anywhere in the U.S. for illegal immigrants. The treatment they’re getting is better than our own veterans and citizens.

The solution to this problem starts with finishing the wall, cracking down on cartels and illegal drug traffickers streaming across the border, redirecting Biden’s budget from IRS agents to border agents, and reinstating President Trump’s Remain in Mexico policy.

THE ECONOMY AND JOBS

Joe Biden’s failure to lead has put America on the brink of economic disaster and we are using China as our bank. As President of US Brick, Catherine helped create well-paying jobs right here in the Lowcountry. As Labor Secretary in South Carolina, she brought tens of thousands of jobs to the Lowcountry and over a billion dollars in investments right here on American soil.

She believes the United States can grow the economy by investing in companies here and building things here. Catherine also believes the U.S. must punish bad actors like China who are trying to steal our jobs and our technology. It is the responsibility of the U.S. government to move the American supply chain away from China and invest in US -– American workers and American jobs.

ELECTION INTEGRITY

If voters don’t believe their elections are secure, then there is no faith in the democratic system. Openness, accountability, and fast, accurate counts is what our election process needs. Catherine helped pass the South Carolina Voter ID law and wants even more integrity in the election process: clean voter rolls and open access for election observers. Audits and paper would be the gold standard. No more counting behind closed doors. And no more changing election rules in the middle of elections.

EDUCATION

Our education system should not be the delivery mechanism for indoctrinating special interest views into young minds. Our educators have to get back to the basics of teaching reading, writing, and math. The moral upbringing of our children and their beliefs is the right and responsibility of parents and should not be directed, influenced, or violated by government institutions. That is why Catherine created a Foundation at her local public high school and taught Government and Civil Discourse at the local College to teach our kids how to be productive citizens of this great nation without the liberal overreach of government programming.

Catherine also supports vouchers for public school parents in order to force failing public schools to improve and give parents a choice in their child’s education.

SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE

In Congress, Catherine will always vote to preserve and protect Medicare and Social Security for those who have paid into it all their lives and are relying on these programs. The United States government made a promise to the American people, and she will make sure they keep that promise. Sadly, Democrats in Washington have driven inflation through the roof, costing our government so much more in these very large programs. As the U.S. brings inflation down, and eases the cost of frivolous D.C. spending, the country can once again go back to focusing on shoring up these programs so we do not leave future generations of Americans in debt or without the return on their investment.

INFLATION AND GOVERNMENT SPENDING

China is our banker and the U.S. is still spending money on a pandemic that is over. Trillions of dollars in reckless and wasteful spending have driven up the cost of gas, groceries, interest rates, and everything the U.S. buys. It’s now commonplace for items to cost double what they cost just a few short years ago. Congress has got to put a brake on the spending. As a government disrupter, Catherine cut spending by $68 million and reduced the size of the bloated bureaucracy by 25% in just 18 months of applying her business sense. Anyone who tells you that the government can’t control spending is not trying or simply doesn’t know how to make it happen.

ABORTION

Catherine is 100% pro-life. Her convictions on the precious sanctity of life are rooted in her faith and her personal experience. When Catherine and her husband Morgan learned they were pregnant with twins, a life-threatening maternal condition and a fetal complication led their doctor to suggest chromosomal testing and some hard decisions. Catherine and Morgan did not hesitate with their decision. They declined the testing and thanked God for giving them the opportunity to do His will. These were their children to protect. They were blessed with a beautiful, healthy baby girl AND baby boy. Their personal testament convicts Catherine to do the same in Congress–to vote to protect life and advance the cause of the pro-life movement.

2ND AMENDMENT

Catherine stands for the rights afforded to us by the 2nd Amendment–no exceptions, no apologies–100% of the time.

CRIME AND PUBLIC SAFETY

The “no-crime” catch-and-release policies of liberals and progressives in our major cities cannot EVER be allowed to become the law of our nation. Crime in big cities due to these foolish policies has made us less safe and has allowed organized crime, gangs, drugs, and cartels to prosper. This past year, the DEA seized enough lethal doses of fentanyl to kill every single American, yet our border is still open to the drug trade. At the federal level, Catherine  will ensure that the Department of Justice stays focused on the crime Americans worry about, do everything in her power to strengthen sentencing and prosecute real criminals who put us in danger, and work with South Carolina law enforcement and prosecutors to make sure you are safe.

HOLD WASHINGTON ACCOUNTABLE

Washington should work to make our lives better–that means citizens holding D.C. and politicians accountable when they fail us…which is often. There is an overly weaponized and overly politicized federal government that is more interested in punishing their political opposition than enforcing the law. This country needs oversight to rein in government abuse of power and corruption.
